Did you know that countless bills and other pieces of legislation that can help everyday Americans sit around gathering dust during the normal course of politicking? One such example is Ohio’s House Bill 162, which would support parents and guardians from medical tyranny against their children, if it started moving.

“This legislation, sponsored by PFLN Member Rep. Gary Click, ensures that a health care provider shall ensure, to the fullest extent permitted under the HIPAA privacy rule and Ohio law, that the minor’s parent or guardian has access to their minor’s health records. It also states that a health care provider shall not require the minor’s parent or guardian to obtain the minor’s authorization before the parent or guardian may access the minor’s health records,” Pro-Family Legislative Network executive director Audrea Decker told Poll2Action in an exclusive comment. The bill comes amid a rise in medical institutions and lawmakers trying to remove parents from their children’s healthcare. Many states are already pushing for actions against allowing minors to receive gender mutilation surgeries without parental consent, according to KFF. Four states have already stepped up to protect children, while many, like Ohio, drag their feet.
