The second GOP debate experienced a significant drop in viewership, with less than 10 million tuning in, a 25% decrease from the 12.8 million attracted by the first debate. Interestingly, these figures are still substantially lower compared to each of the GOP debates in 2016 which consistently drew over 11 million viewers. Concurrently, Trump remains ahead in the polls and chose to rally with Michigan autoworkers instead of participating in the debate. Some suggest that the RNC should halt further primary debates and focus on the campaign against Biden.
