Gallup’s recent report reveals a worrying discrepancy between parents’ perception of their child’s academic abilities and the harsh reality. While an overwhelming majority of parents firmly believe their child is academically on par, if not exceeding grade-level expectations, national data paints a completely different picture. Alarmingly, less than half of American students meet the correct academic standards, despite earning ‘B’ grades. Parents are being beguiled by ‘B-flation’, deceived by report cards that factor in non-academic parameters, ultimately leading to a false sense of security.
