Should Companies Promote Social Agendas?

The National Legal and Policy Center, a nonprofit watchdog, has expressed serious concerns over Oreo’s parent company, Mondelez International, and its apparent ideological alignment with the LGBTQ+ organization PFLAG. Assertions of an “inappropriate relationship” are centered around claimed support for controversial topics in youth spaces and involvement in advocacy that NLPC deems unsuitable for a brand associated with children. The group has taken further steps to officially challenge the corporate actions of Mondelez International through a shareholder proposal, which is scheduled for discussion at the upcoming annual meeting.
