The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) donated $17 million to American schools between 2009 and 2023. The Confucius Classrooms program, which forges alliances between K–12 schools, colleges, organizations, and the Chinese government, has allowed the CCP to penetrate American classrooms. The agreements have mainly targeted 20 schools close to U.S. military bases and the best technology and science schools. The program is active in 143 districts spread throughout 34 states and Washington, D.C.. According to Chinese official media, the CCP wields influence over these educational institutions and uses them to advance its objectives abroad.
The group discovered connections between the CCP and schools like:
Cloverport Independent School District, KY
Minnetonka Public Schools, MN
St. Cloud Area School District, MN
Tulsa Public Schools, OK
Sisters School District, OR
Highland Park Independent School District, TX
Seattle Public Schools, WA
The programs are also accessible close to important military facilities, like Fort Bragg, Nellis Air Force Base, and San Diego Naval Base.
