The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has made a landmark ruling tightening the regulations around abortion pills. The Court has restricted the number of weeks within which abortion drugs can be dispensed, mandated that only physicians can prescribe the pill, and reinstated the requirement for three in-person visits with a medical professional for women seeking an abortion. Furthermore, the Court has banned the mailing of abortion pills and required mandatory reporting of all adverse events caused by the drug mifepristone.
