According to the documentary, “No Way Back: The Reality of Gender Affirming Care (2023), here are some cold hard facts about minor gender transition:
• 95% of children who are given puberty blockers go on to take cross-sex hormones.
• Cross-sex hormones are being offered outside of clinical trials with many unknowns about long-term risk, as well as permanent sterilization.
• People who have transitioned have a suicide rate 19x higher than matched controls.
• Evidence from detransitioners suggests that medical transition does not ‘cure’ mental health problems.
• 1 in 10 teenagers now identifies as transgender.
Congress must protect our nation’s children from irreversible gender treatments and protect taxpayers from being forced to fund the mutilation of children. In May of this year, Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA-1) introduced H.R.3328 Protecting Children from Experimentation Act of 2023 and H.R.3329 End Taxpayer Funding of Gender Experimentation Act of 2023.
The Protecting Children from Experimentation Act would prohibit doctors from performing gender reassignment treatments on minors. Minors are not capable of making rational life-altering decisions. These treatments are radical, invasive, and irreversible and should be stopped. There are 44 co-sponsors on this bill. The Senate companion bill is S.1597. They are currently in the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.
The End Taxpayer Funding of Gender Experimentation Act would protect taxpayers from being forced to pay for gender reassignment surgeries and treatments, which may go against their religious and moral standards. The high price of experimental and unethical medical interventions should not be passed to American taxpayers. There are 45 co-sponsors on this bill. The Senate companion bill is S.1595. They are currently in the House Energy and Commerce, House Judiciary, House Ways and Means, and Senate Finance Committees.
We need Congress to bring this to a vote. Kicking this down the road leaves America’s kids vulnerable to abuse and permanent physical mutilation. This is unacceptable. Act now!
