The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted pastors, especially those in non-metropolitan areas, leading to an estimated 1,500 pastors leaving the pastorate each month during the pandemic’s peak. The lockdowns resulted in churches without congregations and, consequently, a lack of financial support and encouragement for these pastors. The role of a pastor goes beyond being a spiritual leader, often extending to counseling congregants through personal, financial, spiritual, and political matters. The pressures of these multifaceted responsibilities have reportedly increased during the pandemic, with many pastors feeling inadequately prepared to handle such demands.
