The weather outside is certainly turning frightful this December, with plummeting temperatures sweeping across the U.S., but where might you find a truly snowy white Christmas this year? According to Matador Network, there are at least 25 different places gearing up for a frosty day!

Fairbanks, Alaska, seems like the most glaringly obvious place to guarantee yourself a white Christmas. There is a literally 100% chance of snow throughout the Last Frontier state, followed closely by Aspen, Colorado’s 99.9% chance. Breckenridge, also in Colorado, is another safe bet, with a 97.7% chance. (TAKE A POLL: Do You Enjoy Drinking Eggnog?)

Next up, we need to move a little further east to Marquette, Michigan, with a 95.5% chance of snow on Christmas day. Then there’s Duluth, Minnesota, with it’s 92.2% shot at a Christmas to remember. (TAKE A POLL: Do You Celebrate Christmas?)

Where Else Is On The List?

“It’s too early to say for sure where we will get snow on the big day, but long-range weather forecasts are nodding towards a slightly higher-than-normal chance that we’ll get colder and drier conditions in the run-up to Christmas. The likelihood of a White Christmas varies across the country, with regions in the north and at higher altitudes generally having a better chance,” the Matador Network’s Katie Scott Aiton wrote in the post, noting that the data was built from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), analyzed by SIXT.

“A White Christmas is a magical experience that can turn a simple holiday trip into a memorable adventure. By combining a high likelihood of snowfall with a variety of festive activities, these destinations offer the perfect setting for a winter wonderland getaway. Whether you’re seeking a cozy mountain retreat or a bustling city with holiday cheer, these top 25 locations have something for everyone,” says Jen Adams, Head of Partnerships and travel expert at SIXT.
