Arkansas passed a law in mid-2025 that ensures the land controlled by Israel following the Six-Day War is officially referred to as “Judea and Samaria” in official government material.
The legislation was sponsored by Pro-Family Legislative Network members Rep. Mindy McAlindon and Sen. Jim Dotson, and ensures government agencies within Arkansas refer to the area commonly known as the “West Bank” as “Judea and Samaria,” the historical name given to the region. “I felt that the area should be recognized as Judea and Samaria. That is the rightful name of the land,” McAlindon told the Jerusalem Post in May. “I really felt it was important to speak the truth and use the term Judea and Samaria, because ‘West Bank’ is a relatively new and highly politicized term.” (RELATED: ‘In God We Trust’: West Virginia Takes A Big Step For Religious Freedom)
“I heard people testify against it, saying it was about picking sides, that it wasn’t the right thing to do. They said the land had been inhabited by many different people over the decades and centuries, and could be referred to in many different ways,” she added. “There was even a Jewish woman who testified in the Senate against the bill. But my response was: This land was given to the Jews centuries ago.”
