A study published in Dec. by WalletHub revealed the best cities for New Years Eve celebrations, based on 26 key indicators related to “epic” and “affordable” experiences.

WalletHub compared the 100 most populated cities in the U.S. across three key areas: entertainment and food, cost, and safety and accessibility. These were each broken down across 26 indicators, such as legality of fireworks, party supply stores, drink pricing, restaurant costs, taxi-fare, traffic, walkability, and more. New York City, NY, Orlando, FL, San Diego, CA, Las Vegas, NV, and Chicago, IL, were the top 5 cities revealed in the city, though there are some discrepancies. New York, though technically #1 overall, was #6 for entertainment and food, #97 for cost, and #18 for accessibility.
