The National Weather Services believes that April will bring warmer than average temperatures to a region stretching from Utah, through Texas, up the eastern coast to New England. The Northwest needs the brace for more cold, and Alaska needs to get a grip.

NWS is concerned about drought conditions worsening through the Spring Season of 2025, particularly for the western stretches of the U.S. Drier and warmer temperatures will particularly impact a region stretching along the Gulf of America.
“With La Niña conditions emerging in December 2024 and expected to persist through at least the February-March-April time period (59% chance), the above graphics shows some of the typical La Niña impacts across the [continental U.S.] during the wintertime months,” NWS wrote in one forecast.
When Does Spring Start?
March 20 is technically the start of spring in 2025, with the season ending on June 21. For those living throughout the south and east coast, it’ll probably feel like summer has arrived early if these temperature trends continue. The farmer’s Almanac, which is typically more accurate than anything created by a government, believes the weather throughout spring will look more like this, according to the Shelby Star:
