Data published by AdWeek in late October revealed that Fox News was the most watched cable news network in the run-up to the 2024 election.
Not only was Fox the most watched news channel, but it was the only network to see an overall growth in total viewers, in adults 25-54, across primetime and the total day, AdWeek noted. This marks the second-highest rated Oct. for Fox during an election year. (LEARN MORE: IRS, FBI, DOJ Knew Hunter Biden Laptop ‘Was Real’ Immediately: SOURCE)
“In primetime, FNC averaged 2.751 million total viewers and 359,000 A25-54 viewers for month-to-month gains of +10% and +11%, respectively. During total day, it recorded 1.623 million total viewers and 212,000 viewers in the demo for a gain of +13% in the former category and +9% in the latter,” wrote AdWeek.
What About The Others?
MSNBC did not record any month-to-month gains throughout Oct., despite their main show — Moring Joe — getting its second most-watch period over the last three years. MSNBC finished No. 2 overall, suggesting that mainstream corporate news media is officially dead.
To put into perspective, Tucker Carlson and Joe Rogan — both independent in their work — saw literally hundreds of millions of viewers across all of their output throughout Oct., dwarfing anything capable within cable news. This suggests people are turning away from traditional television and focusing on the news in their palms. (TAKE A POLL: Should the Government Play A Larger Role in Combating Climate Change?)
