Alaska is set to join 23 other states in banning biological males from competing in women’s sports. This decision, approved by the Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development, aims to ensure fairness, safety, and equal opportunity for female students in high school athletics. The regulation strictly applies to school districts that are part of the Alaska School Activities Association. Governor Mike Dunleavy appreciated the board’s careful consideration of over 1,300 public comments in an effort to get the regulation right.
