Pro-Family Legislative Network member Ohio Rep. Angie King is sponsoring a bill for the state’s 136th General Assembly (2025-2026) that would prohibit foreign adversaries from purchasing land near critical infrastructure.
HB 1 would prohibit certain governments, businesses and individuals from purchasing land within 25 miles of critical infrastructure facilities in Ohio. Those deemed unable to buy land include those who, “based on the best information available to the secretary of state, constitute a threat to the agricultural production, critical infrastructure, security, or military defense of this state, or the United States.”
The registry will be available on the secretary of state’s website and updated at least every six months. Additional definitions include prohibiting those who “have engaged in a long-term pattern or serious instances of conduct significantly adverse to the national security of the United States or the security and safety of United States persons.” (MORE NEWS: Chaplains Could Soon Start Supporting Teachers In Schools)
