The absolutely massive “Sick New World” festival was officially canceled back in December due to low ticket sales, surprising many given the popular line-up.
Bands such as Metallica, Lincoln Park, Queens of the Stone Age, Evanescence, and more were ready to perform at the enormous April 12 event, according to the SF Chronicle. ““Despite our best efforts, we’ve encountered unforeseen circumstances that we are unable to overcome for next year’s show,” Live Nation said in a statement accompanying the cancelation. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated SNW fans who had made plans to join us for another cultural celebration of hard rock, goth, alternative, and heavy music. Please stay tuned for further and future information regarding Sick New World.”
The festival needed to sell-out or come pretty close in order to break even. Thanks to the ongoing cost of living crisis, ticket sales remained low. Some also speculated that the festival’s move away from certain music genres contributed to its collapse.

Wallen is also reportedly working on new music to accompany the tour!
