TAKE THE POLL: CLICK HERE

In the week prior to the 2024 Election, ballot boxes were set on fire in at least three states as social media users reportedly encourage this heinous act.

An “incendiary device” started a fire in a Portland, Oregon ballot drop box in October, according to NPR. Apparently only three ballots were damaged as a “fire suppressant inside the ballot box protected virtually all ballots,” Multnomah County Election Division said in a statement. Within hours, another drop box was set on fire in Vancouver, Washington, where “hundred” of ballots were damaged. (TAKE A POLL: Is Voter ID Legislation Necessary to Prevent Fraud?)

“The majority of the ballots are completely destroyed and the remaining ballots are severely damaged and very very wet,” Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey told the outlet. “It’s heartbreaking. It’s a direct attack on democracy,” he added.

“Act of Terror”

Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs described the situation as “acts of terror,” reminding voters that they can check online to see if they ballot has been marked as returned or otherwise. (TAKE A POLL: Did You or Do You Plan to Vote Early?)

A week prior, 35-year-old Dieter Klofkorn told law enforcement in Phoenix, Arizona, that he set fire to a USPS mailbox on Oct. 24 ” because he wanted to be arrested and that his actions were not politically motivated and not related to anything involving the upcoming election,” the department said in a statement.
