When it comes to inflation, Trump agrees that the federal government should cut regulations to bring down prices of goods for American citizens. “Donald Trump promised to lower the corporate tax rate to 20%, further reducing the income levy on the largest US companies that he already slashed while president, according to people familiar with the remarks. The current corporate tax rate is 21%, but even a small reduction represents a tax cut worth billions of dollars each year for profitable US companies,” CFS wrote in their analysis.

Alternatively, Harris has said publicly that she doesn’t care if her carbon tax hits consumers. “There has to be some connection between the fee and bad behaviors… We’d have to monitor whether that is passed on to consumers, but I’m gonna tell you that should never be the reason not to actually put a fee, and particularly a carbon fee,” Harris told CNN. “So part of my plan is that we will require all elements of industry to actually score and they will be scored based on the carbon imprint that their business creates. And we will score that. So again that industry.. that business and we can all be aware of and measure the impact of their behavior on the environment.” These costs will likely be passed on to consumers.
