On April 14th, agents from the IRS Criminal Investigation Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives raided and closed Highwood Creek Outfitters (America’s largest online firearms and accessories mall, according to their website) in Great Falls, Montana.
TWENTY armed agents showed up with AR-15s to confiscate financial paperwork—specifically 4473 forms. This means the personal information of every customer who ever purchased a firearm at that location is now in the hands of the IRS. There is NO financial information on 4473 forms, and therefore no circumstance exists why the IRS would need them. This is a severe breach of privacy and is against federal law.
A pattern of intimidation and harassment is emerging against mom-and-pop gun shops, orchestrated by the White House and carried out by the IRS and ATF. In fact, the Biden Administration outlined their plans in 2021 to hassle gun shops over minor record-keeping and paperwork discrepancies, so this does not come as a surprise.
The weaponization of our government agencies to target and harass law-abiding American businesses and citizens has got to STOP! Is this why taxpayers funded 87,000 IRS agents, their weapons, and ammunition?
Congress must use the power of the purse to ensure that funding for these agencies is not weaponized against the American people!
