Senators Tim Scott and Pete Ricketts have introduced a bill, the ‘Stop Support for Hamas Act’, aimed at ceasing American financial support that may inadvertently benefit Hamas, a known terrorist organization. The Act proposes to sever contributions to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), freeze Economic Support Funds to Gaza and the West Bank until the dismantling of Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure is confirmed, and strengthen existing laws to ensure no U.S. assistance indirectly benefits Hamas or the Palestinian Authority until they end their “pay for slay” program.
